Finding the Clinic

The Grand Acupuncture Center is located in the Oakland's Grand Lake neighborhood at 3931 Grand Avenue at the corner of Jean Street. We're convenient to AC Transit buses as well as Hwys 80, 580, 980, 13, and 24.

Parking

There are two "Acupuncture Parking" spots for the clinic in the lot behind the building, plus a third spot that is labelled for dental or acupuncture patients. Please help us keep on good terms with our neighbors -- do not park in any other tenant's spot, even briefly. In case our spots are taken, please allot enough time to find street parking. (We've never had to park more than a block away, and the neighborhood is very safe for walking, even at night.)

There are electronic pay-and-display meters along Grand Avenue, while parking along other nearby streets is free. Please keep an eye on the signs, as all the local side-streets have posted street-sweeping hours, and parking citations are not cheap.

By Bike

If you'll be cycling to the clinic, there are bike anchors out front to which you can chain your bike, or you can take it around to the back side of the building and lock it to the posts at the side of the driveway. We regret that is no room available for bike storage within the clinic, so please bring your own lock.

By BART or Bus

The MacArthur BART station is located on 40th Street between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Telegraph Avenue, about thirty minutes' walk or a ten-minute cab ride from our clinic. We're happy to call a cab for you when your treatment is over.

The intersection of Grand Ave and Jean Street is served by AC Transit bus number 12, which goes to/from the MacArthur and 12th Street BART stations. The bus from MacArthur stops immediately in front of the clinic; the bus from 12th Street stops across the street.

By Freeway

If you're coming from San Francisco, take Hwy 80 eastbound to Hwy 580 east toward Hayward; exit at the Grand Ave/Lakeshore Ave offramp. Go left under the freeway overpass and continue on Grand Ave north past the Grand Lake Theater until you reach the light at Jean Street/Wildwood Ave. The clinic is the two-story white building on the left.

From Berkeley, Albany, or points to the north, take Hwy 80 westbound to Hwy 580 east and exit at the Grand Ave/Lakeshore Ave offramp. Go left under the freeway overpass and continue on Grand Ave north past the Grand Lake Theater until you reach the light at Jean Street/Wildwood Ave. The clinic is the two-story white building on the left.

From San Lorenzo or points to the south, take Hwy 880 westbound to Hwy 980/Hwy 24 eastbound to Hwy 580 east and exit at the Grand Ave/Lakeshore Ave offramp. Go left under the freeway overpass and continue on Grand Ave north past the Grand Lake Theater until you reach the light at Jean Street/Wildwood Ave. The clinic is the two-story white building on the left.

From San Leandro and points to the southeast, take Hwy 580 westbound to the Grand Ave offramp and loop around to the exit intersection onto Grand Ave. Turn left at the light and continue until you reach the light at Jean Street/Wildwood Ave. The clinic is the two-story white building on the left.

From Orinda and points to the northeast, take Hwy 24 westbound through the Caldecott Tunnel to Hwy 580 east toward Hayward; exit at the Grand Ave/Lakeshore Ave offramp. Go left under the freeway overpass and continue on Grand Ave north past the Grand Lake Theater until you reach the light at Jean Street/Wildwood Ave. The clinic is the two-story white building on the left.
